What Roll Does Worship Play at Whitehall?

The Heavenly Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the focus of worship at Whitehall Baptist Church.

We believe that all persons have needs which can be met in worship. As each worshiper focuses attention on the power and majesty of God, life’s conflicts, struggles and disappointments can be left in the Father’s hands.

What Does Worship Do?

Different people at different times have proclaimed these following benefits:

1.  My sense of limitation finds completion.  (Psalms 8:4-5)

2.  My sense of "not knowing" brings me to God as the source of all knowledge. (Ephesians 3:18-19)

3.  My uprootedness and insecurity are settled by God as a stable refuge. (Psalms 46:1)

4.  My search to overcome loneliness and estranged lostness is fulfilled in companionship with God.  (John 3:16)

5.  My need to belong is satisfied when I find mutual fellowship with other worshipers.  (Ephesians 4:1,4-6, 16)

6.  In worship, my soul is laid bare as I call for cleansing and forgiveness for my guilt.  (Psalms 51:1)

7.  My built-up anxious and emotional tensions are released in worship, the deepest of all emotional experiences.
(Psalms 42:11)

8.  My search for my own meaning and significance in this modern world is most purposely fulfilled in worship.
(Romans 8:28)

9.  My times of feeling broken and in need of healing are best addressed in worship.  (Isaiah 42:3)

10.   My times of grieving over loss in life is only satisfied by the living Lord who overcame all grief, and loss, and tells me (us), "Do not let your hearts be troubled."  (John 14:1,27)

At Whitehall Baptist Church we strive to ensure that worship is there for you - every week with purpose and intent to benefit you in your everyday life.
